Frontier-First Kiss addresses the theme “Frontier” for the annual Verriales at La Galerie Internationale in Biot, France. We are thinking about the Frontier to a new relationship….the First Kiss. That actual border, the space that must be crossed to the decision to give a new relationship a go. It is one of the most intense and romantic moments we can experience.

Here is a glimpse at the original waxes for this sculpture. They are carefully fit to the wood bases before being invested into the plaster molds. The wax is extracted from the mold, which then is fired in a kiln and the glass melts into the space left by the wax. The waxes have their own beauty…unfortunately it is not a durable material. Fortunately…glass is!
